Funding pool for training costs: Sponsor Buettner, according to his own statements, is providing a funding pool in the six-figure range. The funding is not limited in time. The money is intended to cover expenses such as coaches or players’ travel costs. The players may also use the Weissenhaus estate for their training.
In addition to Vincent Keymer, the academy is expected to include five other talents:
- Leonardo Costa: The 16-year-old currently ranks ninth in the world rankings for U16 players. In 2022, he became German national champion in the open category.
- Marius Deuer: The 15-year-old is the youngest German player to hold the title of International Master, the step before Grandmaster.
- Christian Glöckner: The 12-year-old became German champion in his age category last year, and also double European champion in blitz and rapid chess. He has already trained with chess legend Garry Kasparov.
- Hussain Besou: At just eleven years old, he was first nominated for the German men’s national team. The 12-year-old has already won the German championship in the U10 and U12 categories.
- Arian Alloussi: He learned chess from his mother at the age of three. Today, he is considered one of the greatest talents in his age group.
