Participation in the Chess World Championship in Almaty was an unforgettable experience for Arian. In a tournament that brought together the best players from around the world, he had the opportunity to compete against opponents from Japan, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Hungary, Korea, Australia, and Mongolia.
As one of the youngest cadets in the U10 age category, Arian performed very well and successfully finished the tournament with 6 points out of 11 games.
Beyond the sporting achievement, it was also a special encounter with a different culture. Central Asia is a challenging environment for competitive chess, yet it is also marked by great enthusiasm for the game. This tournament once again demonstrated how chess connects cultures and nations.
We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Theiss Naturwaren and TSG Oberschöneweide for their support.
